Parenting Plan

I have over 10 years of experience working as a family court counsellor and 8 years in divorce mediation. Combined with my counselling education and experience, I have an expert level understanding of the impacts of divorce/separation on children. This includes the effects/impacts of:

• living between two homes
• spending less time with each parent
• moving, changing schools, or long commutes
• lack of communication between parents
• lack of coordinated parenting strategies
• differences in schedules between parental homes
• adjustment to step-parents and step-siblings
• separation from siblings and extended family members
• having parent(s) with mental health and addiction challenges
• inconsistency of parental involvement
• witnessing parental conflict and domestic violence
• experiencing physical, sexual, and emotional abuse
• neglect
• parental alienation
• reunification between child and long-absent parent(s)

My approach to developing parenting plans focuses on the emotional, psychological, and developmental needs of each child. This also includes taking into consideration each child's personality and stage of development. 

I am also open to mediating individual topics if parents are just having challenges with one specific aspect of parenting after separation.
